FAVACA Honors 2012 Outstanding Volunteers of the Year at International Days

March 27, 2013 - The Florida Association for Volunteer Action in the Caribbean and the Americas (FAVACA) announces they will honor the 2012 Outstanding Volunteers of the Year at the Florida Chamber of Commerce's International Days. The Volunteers of the Year are Dr. Xiaoan Sun, Robyn Perlman, Gail Meltzer, and Terrie Temkin and they will receive their award at the 8 am breakfast reception on April 3rd, 2013.

Please join us Wednesday, April 3rd from 5:30-7:00 pm for our 2012 Volunteers of the Year Reception at 1020 E. Lafayette Street in Tallahassee.  This event is open to friends of FAVACA and is in collaboration with 1020Art and the Tallahassee Committee on Foreign Relations.  We will have light hor' dourves a beautiful international art show curated by 1020Art and a panel of speakers featuring our FAVACA Volunteers of the Year and Counsels General from several regional countries.

Fall Colombia Exchange Program Participant Bios

Adeline Vargas del Castillo

Born in San Andres de Tumaco, Adeline Vargas del Castillo is currently the Director and Founder of the ecological foundation, Green Heritage (Etnia Verda). Additionally she participates as a consultant for the Access to Justice Program managed by USAID, and previously worked with their human rights program. She received her degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Environmental and Applied Sciences in 2001 and later her Masters in Environmental Management from the University of Javeriana. She was named a Climate Change Champion by the British Council in 2010.
