Singing for Change Supports Small Farmers in Rural Haiti

Chicken CoopThe Singing for Change Foundation is supporting egg production for small farmers in rural Haiti as a part of ongoing poverty alleviation efforts.  Pictured here is the first of two chicken coops for rural communities one hour east of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  Haitian NGO Royal Palm and FAVACA are working to diversify small farmer income through holistic sustainable farm practices.

FAVACA Grant Writing Seminar Streamed Live!

On Friday,April 19th a virtual seminar in Spanish on International Collaboration and Grant Writing was provided by expert volunteer Laura Trujillo. The workshop was based out of the US Embassy in Bogota, Colombia and was streamed live. The workshop was made possible through a collaboration with the US Embassy's Alumni Exchanges office and the US State Department.

FAVACA Honors 2012 Outstanding Volunteers of the Year at International Days

March 27, 2013 - The Florida Association for Volunteer Action in the Caribbean and the Americas (FAVACA) announces they will honor the 2012 Outstanding Volunteers of the Year at the Florida Chamber of Commerce's International Days. The Volunteers of the Year are Dr. Xiaoan Sun, Robyn Perlman, Gail Meltzer, and Terrie Temkin and they will receive their award at the 8 am breakfast reception on April 3rd, 2013.
